"Because we Care" program through the Lufkin American Legion and Corsicana American
Legion to be sent to the soldiers overseas.

Donate a pillowcase...and dress a girl around the world.

Bring your new or gently used pillowcases to D5 Roundup
on April 2, 2011 to be collected and then sewn into
dresses to be donated to the international organization
Hope 4 Women to help with their efforts to “Dress a Girl Around the World” ...and “Dress a Girl Around the World"

The goal is to collect 100 pillowcases. Any extra bias tape, ribbon and/or elastic (to finish the dresses) would also be appreciated. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

New info for 2011

The 2011 4-H Clothing Packet is now available at http://fcs.tamu.edu/clothing/4h/packet/index.php. The guidelines can also be found on the Texas 4-H and Youth Development website. The 2011 Clothing Packet includes the guidelines, rules and regulations for the Fashion Show, Narrator Contest, Stage Design Contest and the Fashion Storyboard Contest at State Roundup. The website also includes all contest documents in a fill-able PDF format. Please discard the 2010 Roundup materials as information in the guide has changed.


The attached letter describes the changes in the Clothing and Textile contests. The biggest change is the addition of the Fashion Storyboard contest. This contest will replace the Fabric and Fashion Design Contest. For more information about the Fashion Storyboard contest you can go to http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/projects/storyboard/index_storyboard.php. The website includes sample photos, educational resources from Extension and additional web resources.

Summer Fashion/Clothing Camp

TEXAS TECH OFFERS CAMP FOCUSING ON CLOTHING FOR 4-H MEMBERS



Fashion Camp
The Retailing Program is hosting Fashion Camp 2010: Be a Fashionista, for ages 11 to 18. Fashion Camp 2010 is dedicated to enhancing each campers knowledge of fashion - ranging from lessons and activities on fashion show production, runway hair and make-up, design your own collection, visual merchandising, fashion industry goes green, and of course fashion do's and don'ts. Campers explore the world of fashion, but at the same time learn many aspects of their own personal style. Everyday is beneficial, creative and tons of fun. After a week full of fashion activities, a fashion show will be held in celebration of a job well. done for all of the campers' family and friends.

Dates of Camps:
Session I: June 21-25
Session II: June 28-July 2
